Fimas informs designers and contractors that flooring is being offered on the market as Monostrato Vulcanico dell’Etna (Etna volcanic monolayer paving) or as comparable to it, when in fact these are vibro-compressed tiles or double-layer tiles presented to the user (in good faith) as higher-quality products (volcanic double layer or volcanic two-layer), whereas they are actually the traditional cement tiles that have always existed, with an exposed surface imitating Monostrato Vulcanico dell’Etna.
We recommend being wary of imitations and requesting in advance the certifications attesting to the technical values of the materials.
To prevent any attempt at fraud, we advise contractors to ask manufacturers of Monostrato Vulcanico in advance whether, after product delivery, they will issue certificates of conformity confirming that the certificates accompanying the products refer to the total quantity of material supplied to the site, including the related CIG and CUP.
- Slip resistance friction coefficient: rubber on wet surface not lower than 0.80, leather on dry surface not lower than 0.85.
